Josiah is a completely different child from two years ago. He was extremely hypotonic, with low immunity and stamina. Now, he’s learning to walk with a gait trainer. His therapists at TherapyWorks have also worked wonders with him to increase his upper body strength. Now, he can enjoy activities using his fingers and hands. I am so thankful for his therapists! I feel like we are family. We see them every week and we rejoice together when he meets a goal.
TherapyWorks has worked wonders in Joel’s life. Some of the vast improvements are an increase in his over all strength, better speech, improvement of fine motor skills and behavior, and the ability to transition from one activity to the next. The biggest improvement has been his eating. Joel has had a history of recurrent pneumonia from aspiration. Because of this, he could eat nothing by mouth, and had to receive all his nutrition through a g-tube. After just six months of VitalStim® Therapy, he is now able to taste and eat small bites of some soft foods.
When Jimmiel started at TherapyWorks, he couldn’t do anything. His muscles were very, very tight. He wasn’t able to sit up or move his legs or arms and now he can. I love his therapists! I would recommend TherapyWorks to anyone. I sit in on his sessions and work with him at home on the days he doesn’t come and try and do the same things. Jimmiel is now learning to walk with a gait trainer.
Jakobe loves coming to TherapyWorks. In the short year he has been coming here, his therapists have worked wonders to improve his speech. He is able to articulate sentences now. He also remembers what he is being taught in therapy and is able to self-correct himself when he makes a mistake. Therapy has really helped with Jakobe’s confidence. It has made him a good friend. He is more social and willing to interact with those who don’t know him.
Everyone at TherapyWorks is so friendly and sweet. Gabriel loves coming here! He participates in TherapyWorks nutrition program as well as occupational, physical, speech and aquatic therapy. He loves aquatic therapy the most. The two major milestones he’s working towards is sitting up and walking on his own. I look forward to the day when he is outside running and jumping. He has amazing therapists; we’re getting there.
Before Bentley started coming to TherapyWorks he couldn’t communicate at all. When he spoke, it sounded like he was chewing on gravel. He was evaluated for autism and began occupational and speech therapy. In less than a year, all of his aggressive behaviors have subsided and his speech has developed. When your son says, “I love you daddy” and you understand what he’s saying, it’s pretty mind-blowing. Bentley is a totally different child because of TherapyWorks.
